The present-day tower of Saint Epvre church is the only surviving example of the first Romanesque building dating from the second half of the 12th century. It was listed as a Historic Monument in 1926. After demolition, the nave and choir were rebuilt in a north-south direction in 1777. The forecourt of the entrance porch, built in 1932 by the LUTRINGER company, is the work of architect B. de Reulle. The bas-relief sculpture on the tympanum, depicting a scene from the life of St. Epvre, was engraved by Henri GUINGOT.
Open all year round, daily from 8.30am to 7pm (5pm or 6pm on weekdays in winter).
