The Parier Cross which dominates Rupt-sur-Moselle was erected in 1939 as a token of gratitude to the survivors of the 1914-1918 war and as a protection for the soldiers of the commune. It was blessed on October 1, 1939 by the bishop of Saint-Dié at the end of a large procession that brought together more than 1000 people. It is 10.10 meters high and 1.23 meters wide. Although electrified since 1939, the Parier Cross had not been illuminated since 1952. Recently repainted, its lighting renovated and its surroundings cleared, its site offers walkers a superb view of the Moselle Valley and the city of Ruppes from the top of the rock on which it is installed. Access by car by a road behind the church of Rupt sur Moselle to the car park and then follow the marked route of the yellow ring, make the round trip by the same path. Good shoes are essential!
