Leclerc Monument
On 12 September 1944, the Massu and Minjonnet sub-groups arrived at the level of the German army squadron, the 112th Panzer brigade. This brigade was composed of many young men with little experience. The 2nd armoured division was victorious after 3 days of hard fighting, thanks in particular to the help of the American air force

Small anecdote
Pierre Rivaut, a soldier in the 2nd armoured division, had an adventure while in the commune of Madonne-et-Lamerey. Once the war was over, he decided to find his girlfriend. After these few months of separation, he discovered that her belly had become rounder. He decided to stay and raise the child and ended his life in Madonne-et-Lamerey. Today, a small square bears the name of this hero of the liberation
