In a traditional farmhouse, typical of the Champagne region, immerse yourself in the daily life of your ancestors, a farmer in the age of animal traction and a rural craftsman whose remarkable work was completed by the middle of the 20th century.
The Barbuise Ecomuseum is the work of a team of enthusiasts. Their mission is to safeguard and pass on the tools and professional practices used in rural life up to the middle of the last century.
The collections - which predate the advent of motorization - cover the fields of agriculture and animal husbandry. In addition to the animal-drawn equipment and hand tools used on the region?s farms, you?ll also find tools used by rural craftsmen and tradesmen, such as stuffer, joiner, carpenter and blacksmith,
Clogmaker, Cooper, Wheelwright, Woodcutter, Pitsawyer, Blacksmith, Baker, Beekeeper, Wine merchant, Dairyman.
You'll also find a recreation of an old schoolroom and an old dwelling. The site is managed by a non-profit association affiliated to the national federation "Familles Rurales".
Openings on request for groups of at least 8 people.
