The Catenoy national necropolis contains the remains of soldiers who died for France in the battles of the Oise region. Created and laid out in 1921, it brings together exhumed bodies from the department?s military cemeteries, notably those of Catenoy, Breuil-le-Sec, Epineuse, Angicourt, Mouy, Saint-Rémy, Litz and Plessis-Villette. In 1965 and 1970, exhumed bodies from the Clermont and Creil communal war graves were also grouped here. The cemetery contains almost 1,800 bodies of soldiers killed in the Great War, including two pilots: one Australian, killed on June 4, 1918, and one British, killed on June 7, 1918. A Russian and four Frenchmen killed in the Second World War are also buried here.
