Double lock located on the Canal du Midi. The lock keeper's house dates from the middle of the 18th century, the interior was composed of a living room and a stable.
The name of this lock comes from Occitan and means "the oak".
During its construction, huge levelling errors were made due to the inaccuracy of the instruments of the time. When it was put into water in 1672, it was realized that the single lock chamber was insufficient, hence the addition of a second basin.
Note the play of colour in the Toulouse brick stairs. From here you are 1560 metres from the lock of en Borrel and 2848 metres from that of Renneville.
