The Monument israélite de Fleury-devant-Douaumont, inaugurated on June 19, 1938, pays tribute to the Jewish soldiers who died for France during the First World War. Situated in the heart of the Verdun battlefield, this memorial forms part of the historical landscape of the region, alongside other monuments dedicated to soldiers of various faiths.

The monument is designed to evoke the Wailing Wall, a symbol of Jewish remembrance. It is adorned with a Bible engraved in Hebrew letters, reinforcing its symbolic and spiritual character. Its imposing structure, measuring 25 metres long and 15 metres high, makes it a significant landmark on the site.

The memorial was fully renovated between 2011 and 2014, ensuring its preservation for future generations. It is listed as a national memorial, underlining the importance of commemorating the sacrifice of French soldiers in the Great War at Verdun.

The Monument israélite is accessible free of charge throughout the year, and is an essential place of remembrance for understanding the diversity of sacrifice during the Battle of Verdun.
