Set in a landscape of heather moorland typical of the Millevaches plateau, this drystone bridge spans the
Thaurion river. Listed as a Historic Monument since 1990, this structure dates back to the 17th century.
The surviving arch alone illustrates the dexterity of the builders of the time and the workmanship of Creuse stone. It supported a cobbled track, the traces of which can still be seen on either side of the structure.
Around the bridge are the stones that formed its masonry. The Limousin region is home to numerous remnants of ancient single-arch bridges. These structures, often referred to as "Roman bridges", date back to Roman times. Others were built between the 12th and 18th centuries.
The ideal setting for a picnic break or a souvenir photo in an unspoilt natural setting.
