Discovering Georges Guingouin's maquis
Dedicated to Colonel Georges Guingouin's 1st FTP Limousin Marching Brigade, the Museum strives to transmit, honor and defend the memory of the sacrifices made and the struggles waged by the men and women of Georges Guingouin's maquis.
The various exhibition rooms evoke the commitment of G. Guingouin, "figure of the Resistance", the birth and actions of the maquis, the tragedies of Tulle and Oradour sur Glane, as well as the internment camps in Haute-Vienne and the Nazi concentration and extermination camps.
You can also view the re-enactment of the German surrender in Limoges, and watch the documentary "Première Brigade", featuring the testimonies of maquis companions.
Temporary exhibitions related to the Second World War are also on offer
