MAISONS À COLOMBAGES

The municipality of Eguelshardt has several half-timbered houses.

The most remarkable is below the parish church. This farm, built in 1767 for the miller Jean Dubernel and his wife Anna-Maria Stuhl, has a separate dwelling and farm, preceded by a closed courtyard. With the exception of the masonry ground floor, the rest of the dwelling is entirely made of pan-de-bois, in a traditional manner. To the right of the main facade, the corner post carved out of a niche, which housed a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, bears the names of the owners and the date 1767, which can be seen on the lintel of the door and the barn

Another pan-de-bois house, the oldest in the village, is located at the intersection of the main road and the railway station street; another is in the hamlet of Waldeck.
