The washhouse is located in the heart of the village. The architect Lenoir drew up the specifications and plans on March 15, 1847, and the highly original washhouse was built the same year. It is a highly ingenious communal building with double water circulation from a single hydrant, to both the outdoor drinking trough for the livestock and the indoor basins for the washerwomen. As at Musseau, the two opposing bronze water spouts, in the shape of dragons, are noteworthy. This washhouse, still in use, has been replaced by a depot for books, clothing and tourist brochures, available to local residents and passers-by.
