Given to the monastery of Chirac by Aldebert II de Peyre at the beginning of the 12th century, the church, in a charming site, is still surrounded by its cemetery which contains steles of archaeological interest (some Merovingian) making this place an exceptional heritage site
The Romanesque building ends with a five-sided apse and consists of a single nave, two side chapels forming a false transept, a side chapel to the north under the bell tower and a sacristy adjoining the south of the chevet
The church was heavily altered in the Gothic period, from which it retains some beautiful keystones of armorial arches
The remains of the painted decoration in the north chapel, evoke the 14th century
The stained glass windows, created and made in Lozère, are the work of the glass artist Paul Duckert from Bahours
This church is an example of a local Lozerian assimilation of the architectural and decorative principles of the Romanesque period and then of the late Gothic period.
