On 13 June 1944, as the Second World War entered its final phase, 106 Maquis from the Maquis des Manises, mostly young people from Revin and the surrounding area, who were resistant to the Service of Compulsory Labour, were massacred by the SS on the heights of the Malgré Tout, at a place called Le Père des Chênes.Every year, on 13 June, the local population and personalities gather around the Calvary of the Manises, in the clearing of the Père des Chênes, for a ceremony of remembrance, then on their way back to Revin, stop for a wreath laying ceremony at the foot of the Monument du Maquis, erected on the slope of the Malgré-Tout.
