The "Adèle et Clarisse" gabare, named after Beaulieu?s last ferrywomen, was built using traditional methods on the Beaulieu quays in 2002.
A sign in front of the landing stage tells you all about the construction process. This 45-minute guided tour explores the history of inland waterway transport on the Dordogne and how life used to be in the valley before the dams.
In summer, please bring a hat and bottle of water for the walk.
Please note! You need to be able to climb 5 steps to get on and off the boat. For safety reasons, we are unable to accept wheelchair users who are not sufficiently autonomous.
