Fabio Rietti represented the emblematic figures of Mulhouse. Among them were industrialists such as Samuel Koechlin, Jean-Henri Dollfus and Jean-Jacques Schmalzer, three of the four founders of the first cloth printing factory in 1746, Captain Dreyfus, Jean Henri Lambert, a great scientist of the Age of Enlightenment, the "Milhüser Wagges", a small Mulhouse gavroche, and little Henriette Reber, the first child born after the reunion in France on 15 March 1798.
