ÉGLISE SAINT SULPICE

Description

The church of Saint Sulpice was rebuilt at the beginning of the 16th century on the initiative of Lord Antoine de Ville and his wife Yolande de Bassompierre, and enlarged at the end of the 19th century. It was enlarged at the end of the 19th century and is made of local variegated sandstone. The façade is decorated with a portal that bears witness to flamboyant Gothic art: the arch in the form of an accolade, cushioned by a finial, crowns the jambs, which are extended by small hooked pinnacles. The plan of this Gothic building is simple: a nave with five bays, two aisles pierced by bays with various flamboyant fillings, closed by stained glass windows by Charles Champigneulle (1900), a five-sided chevet.
