A biological environment of European interest, situated at an altitude of 900 m in the communes of Meymac, Saint-Merd les Oussines and Chavanac, the Tourbière du Longeyroux occupies a vast 250-hectare depression, where a multitude of streams have given birth to the Vézère. Its size, diversity of flora and fauna and unusual landscapes make the Tourbière du Longeyroux one of the natural jewels of the Plateau de Millevaches.
There are two trails to discover this biological environment and otter paradise: a 1km educational trail, the "Sentier des Linaigrettes", and a 9km trail, the "Sentier de la Bruyère". A visitor's booklet presenting the environment allows you to follow the signposted "Sentier de la Bruyère". This booklet is available from the Tourist Information Offices of Haute Corrèze at a price of 1?
