Saint Nicholas Church
Erected around 1540, in the heart of the village, in order to compensate for the lack of space and the dilapidated state of the church of Lavieville, the church of Saint-Nicolas is the memory of the centuries. It was rebuilt around 1840, to accommodate the inhabitants who make up the parish, i.e. Dompaire, Lavieville-et-Naglaincourt, Madonne-et-Lamerey.
The architecture is simple and massive, with an advanced vestibule compared to the low sides. The western façade, decorated with a rose window, is topped by a bell tower. Although the building is not classified as a Historic Monument, it nevertheless has 14 magnificent stained glass windows representing the Way of the Cross, the work of master glassmaker Gabriel Loire, and a beautiful marble baptistery. It has a very valuable organ classified as a Historic Monument, acquired in 1850. It is dedicated to Saint Nicolas, like many churches in Lorraine. Text Heritage Foundation
