It was built from 1868 to 1870 under the leadership of Father Adam, architect and master builder. The church of Lauw has a franc-comtois type roof whose designs and colours have become a true symbol of the village identity
In 1987, the church was transferred to the Commune by the Factory Council with all the parish property.
Damaged during the two world wars, the church was embellished by the painter Greth and then by Talenti
Two bells were acquired by the Municipality and the Parish in 2002. This was a first since the existing bells had been recovered from another Parish after the construction of the church in 1868.
