Fu costruita tra il 1868 e il 1870 sotto la direzione dell'architetto e responsabile del progetto, Padre Adam. La chiesa di Lauw ha un tetto in stile Franc-Comtois, il cui disegno e i cui colori sono diventati un simbolo dell'identità del villaggio
Nel 1987, la chiesa fu consegnata al Comune dal Consiglio di Fabrique insieme a tutti i beni parrocchiali.
Danneggiata durante le due guerre mondiali, la chiesa fu abbellita dal pittore Greth e poi da Talenti
Due campane sono state acquistate dal Comune e dalla Parrocchia nel 2002, una novità assoluta poiché le campane esistenti erano state prese da un'altra parrocchia dopo la costruzione della chiesa nel 1868.
