Marcq is a village in the Argonne Ardennaise region, with a population of around 110.22km east of Vouziers (Ardennes) and 50km west of Verdun (Meuse). As you drive through this charming village, you'll notice two attractive buildings at either end of the commune: - Château Mercier, built in 1760 by master blacksmith Nicolas Dérué. It has a fine 18th-century appearance, with its slate roof and alternating stone and brick construction (typical of the Ardennes). It has been on the supplementary list of historic monuments since 1998: - Château Dérué, a predecessor to the previous château. Its origins date back to the 17th century. It belonged to the Chamisso family at the time, passing to the Marquis de Puisieux and then to the Dussaussoy-Savary family in the mid-18th century. On May 15, 1780, it was sold to the Dérué family (a notable local family dating back to 1650).
