ABBAYE DES PRÉMONTRÉS

The Abbey of Prémontrés is the most beautiful example of monastic architecture in Lorraine.
An 18th century historical monument, the Abbey of Prémontrés rises majestically in the middle of a 2.5 hectare park bordered by the Moselle River. One can admire its three staircases (round, square, oval), its abbey church, its cloister lined with glass galleries and surrounded by historical rooms (large sacristy, canons' refectory, chauffoir room). While this monument, located in the city center of Pont-à-Mousson impresses by its proportions and its architecture, it is also an ideal place for nature lovers, flowers and walks. The garden of the Scents, the garden of the Court of Honor and the garden on the banks of the Moselle are 3 green spaces of a completely different style where you can stroll or read in the shade of the lime trees.

This former abbey rehabilitated into a cultural center organizes exhibitions; an opportunity to discover artists from the Grand Est, or to explore the know-how of the region. Guided tours, animations, thematic events and workshops (especially for children) punctuate the cultural agenda.

The association (law 1901) in charge of the influence of the abbey, its development and its conservation, welcomes throughout the year conferences, seminars and receptions and manages a 3 star hotel. A commercial activity which allows to finance its functioning up to 85%.

The entrance fees vary according to the exhibitions organized (full price: 6 or 10? / reduced price: 3 or 6?), and contribute to the maintenance and restoration of the building.
