The museum takes you back to the atmosphere of a small-town school at the beginning of the 20th century. The teacher's lodging and the classroom, a reconstitution of 1900, recall the time of purple ink and black smocks. The life of Ernest Pérochon (winner of the Goncourt Prize in 1920 and illustrious pupil of the Nivelle Tower) is also retold. There are guided visits and classroom activities with schoolchildren’s smocks (for adults too) and feather pen writing lessons, but beware of the teacher's crook, etc. Games and quizzes make the visit more fun for children. Various activities are organised throughout the year such as temporary exhibitions, conferences, primary school certificates and cultural demonstrations. 1900-type school group snacks are available on request.
