Terrae Genesis is located on the edge of the Green Way of the High Vosges, between Remiremont and Vagney, on a historical site linked to granite (the cobbles of Paris). This museum of geology and mineralogy is a crossroads of knowledge and discoveries, where amateurs and professionals meet. It is composed of four departments: mineralogy, petrology (study of rocks), paleontology and the history of granite work. To discover on the spot: an exceptional collection of more than 2000 minerals from the Vosges and the whole world, one of the richest mineralogical exhibitions in France. With a black light room, the collection of the Moineaudière and the famous ghost quartz. In petrology, the history of the Earth and the Vosges with an exhibition of 900 rocks. And especially the oldest rock on Earth (4.388 billion years old), a world exclusive. A vast exhibition of more than 500 fossils tracing the history of life on Earth, including the unique footprint of a Vosges dinosaur. The history of granite in the Vosges with the old workshops of forging, polishing and cutting as well as the machines and tools of the time. A store selling jewelry, minerals, stones and fossils. Original creations, souvenirs, gifts and bookshop. Conferences with renowned speakers. During school vacations, workshops for children from 5 years old on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 pm.
