Église Saint-Pierre

Former church of the Benedictine priory founded by Hugues, Count of Rethel, in 1097. Its imposing silhouette dominates the landscape for miles around, with dimensions out of all proportion to the size of the village. The nave measures 44 metres and the campanile rises 35 metres above the ground. Inside, you'll discover one of the finest organ cases in Champagne-Ardenne. Dominated by two trumpet-playing angels, its finely sculpted bas-reliefs depict various musical accessories. Another remarkable piece is the preaching pulpit with its pyramid-shaped lampshade. The high altar is strikingly large and opulent, surrounded by large paintings. The church is also home to a number of 18th-century statues, including a beautiful Madonna and Child.Guided tours for individuals and groups by appointment only.
