Born in 1964 in Maisons Laffitte in Yvelines, Frédéric Poirey, from a very young age, drew, painted and spent several years in the workshops of Suzanne Védrine. After studying graphic design, in 1989 he met a team of decorators, and learned on the job the profession of painter and decorator, which he still practices. He specialized in trompe l'oeil and panoramics. After numerous projects in Paris, in France and abroad, the desire to get closer to nature became imperative and it was in the country of Othe that he set up his workplace. In 2009, Frédéric Poirey s moved to Bérulle and opened his workshop. He goes to meet his neighbors and decides to begin painting the inhabitants of his village in the form of large individual portraits with the aim of representing them as faithfully as possible in their place of life and their activity. Long-term work has already made it possible to create around forty portraits which are regularly exhibited throughout Aube and neighboring departments. The light of the seasons sculpting the hilly and wooded landscapes that surround him inspires him just as much and it is with an impressionist and vigorous touch that he has been creating a series of landscapes for some time. All his work is mainly done in acrylic on canvas and he can work to order. At the same time, he also produced: -A series of watercolor postcards for the Chaource tourist office. -A 180x210 cm copy of the paintings of Cardinale de Bérulle which hangs in the church of Cérilly (89). The copy being hung in the church of Notre Dame de le Nativité de Bérulle. -The creation of illustrations of the signposts for the new Bérulle trails.
