La Maison de la gemme

The association was created on 21 November 2014 and its premises inaugurated on 1 October 2016. It is a space presenting, in the form of an exhibition room and a living museum, the local gemmage and its associated activities.
It is a place of memory retracing the economic activity which structured the life and the social link of the commune and the whole Aquitaine massif in general: gemmage, its practice, its history, the social struggles of the resin workers, its decline and its hope of rebirth.
The team of volunteers welcomes you around its former sheepfold, every Tuesday morning from 10 am to 12 pm in June and low season and from 10 am to 4 pm in July and August
Reservation is required for your visit, which includes various animation workshops (gemstone demonstration, history and management of the forest, current use of the gem).
