Situated 22km from Rethel, the commune actively works to offer a clean and flowery living environment to its 1,400 or so Signacians. Saint-Bernard founded a Cistercian abbey there in 1135 (now destroyed). The castle built in 1724 was demolished and rebuilt in Rethel on the same plan.
