Nearly a hundred mannequins in situation, guns and vehicles in working order, a trench reconstruction and thousands of objects and souvenirs from the wars of the 20th century. You will be amazed by the quantity and quality of the pieces presented!
Return to the past, immersed in military history for the time of a visit. The Museum of Vincey is part of the red brick buildings of the Boussac spinning mills, former flagship of the textile industry and located at the gates of the Battle of the Trouée de Charmes in August 1914. Quite a symbol, since the souvenirs and uniforms of General de Castelnau, winner of this battle and nicknamed the saviour of Nancy for having stopped the Germans at the entrance to the city of the Dukes of Lorraine, are displayed there.
On more than 1500m² and two levels, the museum is a true retrospective, rich and varied of the most important wars from 1914 to that of the Gulf, including the Second World War, Indochina and the Algerian War. You will discover a very broad overview of the equipment: vehicles, weapons, clothing, posters... a very instructive journey through time, with the duty of remembrance to which the guides and volunteers of the Museum are committed.
A pleasant and playful visit given by specialists who evoke history through objects, images and sound, to reflect and question the functioning of weapons and their usefulness on the battlefield.
