The fortified village was established in concentric circles, still clearly visible, around an artificial mound resulting from the pile of earth from the digging of the defence ditch. This Motte, mentioned in the texts as early as the 9th century, rises to a height of 12 m., on a base of 40 metres, crowned by the ruins of a polygonal tower made of flint with ashlar chaining at the edges. This keep (registered with the inventory of the Historic buildings since 1971) goes back to XIe century and included two stages where the dwelling of the lord and his family was located. It is, in the Loiret, the only fortified Motte tower of the high Middle Ages still existing.
