This is the name of the river responsible for capturing the Moselle 300,000 years ago. Located at Villey-Saint-Etienne, the Terrouin is an Espace Naturel Sensible managed by the Conseil Départemental de Meurthe-et-Moselle. This 30 km-long valley is home to a wide variety of natural environments: wetlands, former quarries, limestone lawns, pits, etc., each of which is a privileged refuge for numerous plant and animal species. From the Renard Moulin farm in the commune of Trondes to its confluence with the Moselle at Villey St Etienne, the Terrouin meanders through a narrow valley spanning 24 kilometers. The communes concerned are Trondes, Lagney, Sanzey, Ménil la Tour, Andilly, Manoncourt en Woëvre, Avrainville, Jaillon and Villey St Etienne
