Dit is de naam van de rivier die 300.000 jaar geleden de Moezel veroverde. De Terrouin, gelegen in de buurt van Villey-Saint-Etienne, is een kwetsbaar natuurgebied dat wordt beheerd door het departementale bestuur van Meurthe-et-Moselle. Deze 30 km lange vallei herbergt een grote verscheidenheid aan natuurlijke milieus: vochtige gebieden, voormalige steengroeven, kalkgraslanden, groeves... die stuk voor stuk een bijzonder toevluchtsoord vormen voor talrijke dier- en plantensoorten. Vanaf de boerderij Renard Moulin in de gemeente Trondes tot aan de samenvloeiing met de Moezel in Villey St Etienne slingert de Terrouin zich door een smalle vallei van in totaal 24 kilometer. De betrokken gemeenten zijn Trondes, Lagney, Sanzey, Ménil la Tour, Andilly, Manoncourt en Woëvre, Avrainville, Jaillon en Villey St Etienne
