Site naturel d'escalade "Grotte des Nains"

The Dwarf Cave is above all a place of legend

This climbing site offers routes of a fairly high level. It has the advantage of being located near Altkirch and Mulhouse. Today, it is the only natural climbing site in the Alsatian Jura.

Generalities: the rocks of the Grotte des Dains form a cliff about 25 meters high, facing N.-E. and embedded for about ten meters in a small gorge. The location and orientation of the rocks are such that they never see the sun. The "Tip Top" sector therefore remains dry during light rains. The routes located in this sector are on an excellent overhanging and nicely concreted rock. It is a summer cliff par excellence.

Track range: 15 tracks and variants from 6b to 8a. The essential : Tip-Top

Equipment: All routes are equipped with: Chain and carabiner at the top of each route.

Recommended season: summer, autumn, sometimes impracticable in spring due to resurgence
