Médiathèque Intercommunale

The main areas of activity of the libraries of the Sélestat Intercommunal Media Library network are :

-the provision of funds for "cultural leisure", documentation and research, be they :

printed matter (books, magazines, newspapers, scores)
audio (CD, audio books)
video (DVD)
digitized or online (Bibliovox, 1D Touch, Philharmonie de Paris, readers)

-help and initiation to information research (online catalogue on the Internet, assistance to users in their research, Internet intitiations)

-the loan of documents (books, magazines and newspapers, language methods, CDs, scores, DVDs, readers, etc...)

-the promotion of the funds it offers, notably through a policy of cultural activities (conferences, exhibitions, class receptions, story hour sessions, etc.)

Generally speaking, it seeks to promote access for all to all media, and in particular to the new information and communication media (via a digital public space in particular).
