Château des Roises

It comprises a main building and several outbuildings.

Long neglected, the building has been undergoing careful restoration for several years.
The entrance front features a strong rectangular tower, framed by straight wall sections joining smaller, square corner pavilions. The central tower, solidly faced with sandstone on the first floor, defended the entrance, which features a large, third-point arcade over the carriageway and a small pedestrian gateway, both originally equipped with drawbridges, the remains of which have been found.

One of the interesting features of this front entrance is that it has preserved numerous firing embrasures for light firearms. The most basic ones, built into the surrounding wall, are limited to a circular opening, sometimes topped by a vertical slit used as a sight. The strongest ones, generally flanking the projecting towers, open into the bottom of a hard stone splay.
