Whatever the size of the towns and villages, there have always been fountains and washing places because water is the source of life. They were also important gathering places for the inhabitants
Today considered as a small heritage, fountains and washhouses punctuate the hiking trails of the territory but can also be a space for a new show, the time of an afternoon or be the starting point for a work on memory. Some washhouses have even been refurbished to house the village town hall
The Henriau fountain-washhouse is located in the heart of the fields, on the Henriau hill, which links the village centre of Harol to Ville-sur-Illon. It dates from 1866 and on the basin are 4 stones used for washing clothes.
