Cimetière bourgeois

The former bourgeois cemetery is located next to the parish church, inside the moat that once protected this district. Now disused, it is listed on the Inventaire Supplémentaire des Monuments Historiques (Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments), as it retains a good number of 19th-century burials: wrought-iron crosses, sculpted steles.


In its center, a monumental cross is dated 1673. Christ's halo is made up of iron rays, once gilded, reminiscent of the crown of Christ's head on the old large cross in the Saint Martin cemetery.


Following its inscription, the old cemetery of Villé was redeveloped with a view to its conservation and enhancement.
