Chapelle de Wendel

This neo-gothic funeral chapel in the heart of Hayange, listed as a Historic Monument since 25 September 1980, was once in the centre of the cemetery and housed the bodies of Wendel's family. In neo-gothic style, this building, whose plan is set in a square of 6 m on each side, is built on two levels: the crypt covered with a very low vault, preceded by a vaulted porch which goes under the perron; above, the chapel which is accessed by a double stone ramp accompanied by a guardrail restored in 1993. The yellow stone used for the construction of this building is a local limestone, probably from the quarries of Neufchef.
