Located in the former stables of the Château de Thouars, privileged setting for a moment of relaxation, the Regional Center "Resistance & Freedom" invites you to discover the history of the Second World War and the Regional Resistance from an original angle. The permanent showroom allows you to understand, through a thematic route, why individuals have chosen the path of Resistance. Punctuated with facsimile in free consultation, videos, sound elements by audio-guidance, multimedia terminals, this path allows an autonomous and interactive progression. Do not forget the recent past, understand our society and the world at the beginning of the 21st century, plunge into the heart of the dark years in the footsteps of the army of shadows and come to feel the breath of freedom! Groups welcome every day by appointment from 9h to 18h. Closed holidays and Christmas school holidays (Zone A).
