45km - 2 days on foot. The famous red-and-white signposted hiking route is a real link between the Argonne forest and the Ardenne massif. From north to south: from the Chartreuse du Mont-Dieu and Butte de Stonne areas, you'll pass through vast agricultural areas, following the villages of Grandes Armoises, Oches, Saint-Pierremont and Harricourt (in the Buzancy and Etang de la Samaritaine area). From Briquenay onwards, the forest massif takes shape and thickens, guiding you via the Morthomme to Grandpré, then Chevières, the heights of Marcq, Cornay and Châtel-Chéhéry. After Apremont-Sur-Aire, you enter the Meuse département, heading for Varennes-en-Argonne via the Haute Chevauchée road. Be vigilant during the hunting season, find out more before you go
