Mural "The girl with the lively eyes" - Charleville-Mézières

With the title "La Fille aux yeux vifs", the Nantes artist SMOKA wants to create an emotional connection with the viewer through subtle shades of colour. He creates an inviting and fascinating atmosphere, encouraging viewers to take the time to immerse themselves in the poetry of Arthur Rimbaud. The orange tones reflect the colour of the stone from Dom-le-Mesnil that was used to build La Macérienne across the road. This fresco is reminiscent of those visible on the plain of Cabaret Vert.

The fresco was created at the back of the Lycée Monge and will be visible from the festival site of the same name.

It is the seventeenth fresco in a long series along the touring route. The touring route allows you to discover the city of Charleville-Mézières by following in the footsteps of the man with windy soles. For several years now, this route has been punctuated by works of art that give us a different view of the city where one of the greatest French poets was born.

During the historical tour you will discover the places that Arthur Rimbaud visited during his childhood and adolescence.
