Pont ds Tuves - Montauroux

The Genoa-style stone arch bridge over the Siagne is called "Pont des Gabres" in Saint-Cézaire and "Pont des Tuves" in Montauroux (deformation of a tufa bridge).

This bridge was built in 1802, restored in 1978. The bridge appears in the land register in 1820; the road that runs along this bridge was then called "Route de Montauroux".

This bridge was often confused with a Roman bridge of which only one abutment has been preserved, on the left bank of the Siagne, further upstream (Pont du Rey - Pont du Moulin).

The remains of the road in the Siagne valley are a reminder that people and goods travelled on both sides of the river. Until the mid-19th century, the existence of numerous mills ensured a high level of economic activity (oil, flour, lime). Ruins can still be found today.

The Pont des Tuves is a privileged observation point for certain fish species (southern barbel, sunfish, trout) and ornithological species (eagle owl, short-toed eagle, kingfisher, dipper).

The vegetation in this area consists of holm oaks, Aleppo pines and Mediterranean purple willow coppice.
