Place Victor Hugo - Sainte-Maxime

Place Victor Hugo is a charming central square in the old part of Sainte-Maxime, close to the marina and the bustling heart of the city.

The square is surrounded by terraces, cafes, and small boutiques. Shoppers enjoy the sun, harbor views , and the pleasant Provençal ambiance. Children play there on quiet afternoons, while locals and tourists gather for coffee or an aperitif by the water.

Every year on May 1st, the Fête de la Petite Maio takes place here. After Mass at the church, the Petite Maio, accompanied by dancers, enters the square for a festive ceremony.

Le Café de France (2 Place Victor Hugo) has been a household name since 1852. It combines a bistro-style atmosphere with Mediterranean gastronomy and is known for its live jazz nights on weekends.
