2022 Tour de France in 11 stages, through central to south, returning via the eastern Alps

Day 1: Approach via the highway to Laon. From Laon over the Motagne de Reims towards Chablis and via Noyers to Vézelay. 330 km.
Day 2: Through the western side of the Morvan over Château-Chinon and Digoin to Thiers. 270 km.
Day 3: Through the Livradois-Forez regional natural park over Ambert to Retournac. Via the gorges of the Haute Loire over Le Puy en Velay and further to Langogne on the lac de Naussac. 250 km.
Day 4: Through the Monts d'Ardèche regional natural park and the Cévennes national park over Barre-des-Cévennes, Saint-Jean-du-Gard, Anduze and Dions to the Pont du Gard. Further via Châteauneuf-du-Pape to Beaumes-de-Venise. 280 km.
Day 5: Along the 'Dentelles de Montmirail' to Malaucène. Over the Mont Ventoux to Sault and via the Abbey Notre-Dame de Sénanque to Gordes. Further over Ménerbes and Bonnieux in the regional natural park of Luberon and via Rians and Aups to Les Salles-sur-Verdon at the lac du Sainte-Croix in the Verdon regional natural park. 260 km.

Day 6: Rest day at the lac Sainte Croix near Les Salles sur Verdon.

Day 7: Via Aiguines we take the D71 along the gorges du Verdon and over the pont de l'Artuby via Comps-sur-Artuby to Castellane. Further over Saint-Julien-du-Verdon towards Daluis and along the gorges de Daluis to Guillaumes. Via the D28 to the Tinée valley, and via the M2205 over Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée to Jausiers. Slightly westward take the D900 to Barcelonette. 250 km.
Day 8: From Barcelonette to Saint-Pol-sur-Ubaye and along the D902 via Guillestre and Arvieux over the col de l'Izoard. Via Cervières to Briançon in the Ecrins national park. Along the D1091 over La Grave via the 'chaîne de Belledonne' to Vizile. Via the D5 over Eybens through Grenoble and into the center of Isère to the Massif de Chartreuse. Over Sarcenas to Saint-Laurent-du-Pont. 250 km
Day 9: From Saint-Laurent-du-Pont further through the Massif de Chartreuse along the D921 over Yenne between the Rhône and the Lac du Bourget via Chanaz to Seyssel. Along the D14 to Bellegarde-sur-Valserine and via the D991 over Chézey-Forens through the national nature reserve of the Haute Chaîne du Jura to Mijoux. Over Tancua and Saint-Laurent-en-Grandvaux to Nozeroy. Via Pont-d'Héry, Salins-les-Bains and Mouchard to Port-Lesney on the Loue. 250 km.
Day 10: over Fourg and Ranchot on the Doubs to Pontailler-sur-Saône and via Selongy to the Forêts national park. Further over Auberive and along the valleys of the Aube and the Ource via Vandeuvre-sur-Barse to the lac d'Orient at Géraudot. 230 km.

Day 10+ or 11: Return route via Anglure, Sézanne, Montmirail, Château-Thierry and Soisson to Saint-Quentin. 225 km.
