Dordogne, sublime meanders - Cingle de Trémolat - Limeuil

Start : Limeuil: One of the "most beautiful villages," especially if you approach it via the D31 from Trémolat and the confluence of the Vézère in the Dordogne.

Recreational and tourist bike ride along the Dordogne and via the bridge of Vic towards the small medieval village of Cadouin.

Cadouin: Stunning Romanesque church that, along with the abbey, the surrounding old houses, and the old market hall, forms a magnificent harmonious whole. Notable cloister of the Cistercian abbey, UNESCO World Heritage!

Along the valley of the Bélingou, we pass the "Cascade au bambou" and the cave of Cussac. (not accessible to the public). Via Calès to the "Cingle de Trémolat." Throughout the entire course of the Dordogne, you will encounter sublime meanders here and there. At Limeuil and Trémolat, two almost perfectly symmetrical loops create a formidable spectacle. From the viewpoint of Trémolat, the "cingle" is 200m wide and 10 km long. Between the twists, a beautiful mosaic of fertile cultivated fields forms, with colors changing with the seasons.

You can also combine this bike ride with a visit to Cave of Maxange. This cave was discovered in 2000 in a quarry. Stunning walls with Aragonites and eccentric formations.
