Circuit des châteaux

Situated on the banks of the Mayenne River, the commune of Feneu boasts a rich natural heritage, with areas of bocage near the Basses Vallées Angevines, part of the landscape identity of the Angevin region. Feneu also boasts an interesting and diversified built heritage: castles, an 11th-century church with its 17th-century Piéta, a former presbytery now housing the town hall, and a number of fine bourgeois homes.

Tourist attractions
- The Port Albert site is located on a bend in the Mayenne, 1km from the center of Feneu. It bears witness to the presence of an ancient port that was a stopover for sailing boats such as flutereaux, gabarre or auriers. These boats transported salt, Loire wine, tuffeau and Trélazé slate.... Its verdant setting also attracts many fishermen.
- The Sautré mills were built in 1285 to protect the castle opposite and monitor river traffic. The last mill was in operation until 1980.
- In the Middle Ages, Sautré castle, built on a rocky spur, was a territorial defense against Norman invasions.
