Hiking The 2 chapels

This wild walk, whose central part is exclusively on small mountain paths, allows you to discover the charm of the Vosges forests: 12 km, positive elevation of 510 meters, 4 hours of walking. Reference IGN map 3619 OT. Starting point: parking on the right in the bend under the Chapelle des Charbonniers. From the parking lot, go down the road and follow the red ring marking "Access chapel". Follow the path to the right "Access chapel" to reach the chapel. Go back and head up the road. At the bend, take the forest path on the right with the red ring. At the crossing, continue left with the red ring. Stay to the right until the next intersection. Climb the path along the stream for about 1 km and then follow a path to the right that crosses a footbridge. Stay on this path which leads left (direction Pont de Montbel - Les 3 Mousquetaires) until the foot of the Pont de Montbel. Continue on this path which opens onto a forest road. (It is possible to make a round trip of 50 m to reach the bridge by taking the forest path to the left). Continue the hike by taking the path to the right. Follow the path to the left with the red ring that overlooks the path. Continue for 1.2 km. (At the crossing, it is possible to make a round trip of 600 m to the Chalet des Bluets, with a positive elevation of 50 meters). Go straight ahead. The path joins the road of Rouge Gazon (D90). Cross it to take the path in front. Continue to the end of the path and then on the forest road that leads to Chapelle Botiotte. Go down the forest road which opens onto the road. At the crossing, go up a path to the right to the bench. Follow the path to the left which descends to the road. Go down the road to the left and then to the right to return to the parking lot at the starting point. GPX track and course description downloadable above.
