The liberation in the plains of the Vosges. The 2nd Armored Division arrived in the territory through Vrécourt. After the capture of Contrexéville, while a convalescence center of the Wehrmacht was established at the Cosmos hotel, and after the liberation of the internment camp in the thermal park of Vittel, the largest tank battle of the Western Front took place in Dompaire. The presence of more than one-tenth of the markers of the 2nd Armored Division of France in the plains of the Vosges is not incidental.
