Start: Church Square, Corcieux. 1/ Take Doctor Poirot Street on the left. At the end of the street, turn left onto 31st BCP Street.
2/ You arrive at the place called La Croix Florence (alt 543 m). At the intersection, notice a Calvary (1804). Continue straight ahead towards Ruxurieux (blue diamond).
Cross the hamlet with its old houses and beautiful lintels *.
After passing under the high-voltage line coming from the Fessenheim nuclear power plant, turn left towards La Vierge (blue diamond).
3/ 80 m further, turn right onto a dirt path towards La Vierge (blue diamond) in a forest of firs and spruces and keep going straight, leaving the paths to the right and left.
When you reach the top of the climb, continue to the right (blue diamond). At the next intersection, turn left to reach La Vierge de Hennefête (alt 684 m) *.
4/ Then take the Dukes' Path, towards Saint-Dié (yellow diamond). Upon reaching the paved road, turn left until the intersection of La Vierge (alt 663 m, picnic shelter). Take the left path descending under the high-voltage line, passing in front of the Noir Rupt farm (alt 560 m). In front of you, a panorama of the Corcieux basin, Mont Thiriville, and the village of Vanémont. Keep going straight on the paved road (yellow cross). You pass the place called the Champ d'Evraux (alt 527 m).
5/ 100 m after the high-voltage line, take the dirt path on the left to reach the football field. Cross the housing estate Les Myrtilles (alt 528 m). In front of the cheese factory, turn left onto Gare Street to return to the starting point at the church square.
To see:
THE LINTELS IN THE VOSGEAN HOUSES: The houses of Ruxurieux escaped the disaster of 1944. You can see several lintels (architectural elements located above the doors) in carved sandstone. On each, the construction date of the house was indicated.
THE VIRGIN OF HENNEFÊTE: This monument was inaugurated in 1920 following a vow from the inhabitants of Corcieux to raise a statue of Our Lady of Victories if the city was spared during the 14-18 war. The enemy was stopped on the ridge, and the inhabitants kept their word.
