Hiking the Drumont via the Russiers trail

Departure from the parking lot at the Source of the Moselle. Take the road that goes up to join the national road RN66 for 150 m. Follow the RN66 for 100 m, then take the path that ascends to the left, marked with a blue rectangular sign GR 531, heading towards "Summit of the Drumont". This path, called "Sentier des Russiers," leads higher up to the road of Drumont. Follow this road for about 300 m, then take the blue rectangular path GR 531 that ascends to the right for about 2 km. You will finally arrive at the Drumont clearing, where you will walk along the ridge to the orientation table. The view of the valley reveals Bussang, nestled on the slope of Tête des Corbeaux. The panorama of Ballon d'Alsace, Rossberg, and Grand Ballon is simply magnificent. To the south, on very clear days, you can see the Swiss Alps. The panorama offers an alternation of wooded peaks and urbanized valleys. From the orientation table, descend from the opposite side. At the intersection, take the path to the left marked with a blue rectangle GR 531 "Auberge du Drumont," which will lead you to the farmhouse inn. Below the parking lot, follow the blue disc marking "Bussang – Plain du Repos." The path leads to the road that you will follow for about 300 m, before taking a path on your right, down below. You arrive at the Plain du Repos chalet. To the left of the chalet, continue following the path marked with blue discs, which leads to the chalet of Petite Montagne. Then follow the forest path to the left, marked with a blue disc "Bussang via Charat." There is an option to make a small detour (about 150 m) to admire the viewpoint of Charat, with a beautiful panorama of the Bussang Pass. This is where the first part of the "rando ferrata de la source de la Moselle" ends, a route combining hiking and climbing along a fixed cable and facilitated by rungs, footbridges... Leave the path to take a trail on the right, marked with a blue disc (be careful not to take the return path of the rando ferrata). The path leads to the "road of Charat." Follow this road to the left for about 350 m, before joining the "road of the springs." There is an option to make a detour towards Source Marie, by taking the "road of the springs" to the right. Source Marie is the last vestige of the old spa that was Bussang. Surrounded by a beautiful park, Source Marie is sheltered by a pavilion with free and permanent access where you can taste the naturally sparkling mineral water, which was recommended at the time for the treatment of anemia as it is rich in iron. At the intersection with the road of the springs, turn left. Pass by the Sources pond and the parking lot of the "rando ferrata de la source de la Moselle"; follow the road for about 1 km before reaching the source of the Moselle.
